Carnivore Day 53

 Confession: I have tried and will try any diet to try to get to my ideal body weight (which I think is 118 to 125).  I have tried: Atkins, Vegan, Vegetarian, Keto, Paleo, Juice Fasts, Wheat Grass shots, 5 Day Miracle Diet, The Plan, South Beach, Meditteranean, etc. etc. etc. 

In 2022 I had 2 foot surgeries which took me from a Senior Olympic sprinter to sitting on the couch with my foot elevated for over 2 years. That is not my kind of life. I have run for 45 years. Needless to say, the last two years have been so rough for me. On top of that, I have a desk job. I have a standing desk but am unable to stand due to the poor placement of my new right toe joint.

Today, Sunday, January 7 I have completed my 53rd day of the carnivore diet. I eat until I am satisfied (Beef, butter, bacon and eggs and wild pickeral or wild salmon). I am drinking more water but not a gallon a day. I still drink coffee with heavy cream. I did not weigh myself before I started but I did take some measurements of thighs, waist, chest, biceps and hips. I plan on remeasuring on day 90.

One week ago I had to get weighed at my doctors office. I was astounded to see 130 on the scale, fully clothed. 

What changes do I notice so far:

  1. I have never thought about food LESS
  2. My waist is getting TINY
  3. My mood is STABLE
  4. I wake ENGERGIZED for the day
  5. I sleep well 8 or 9 hours uninterupted 
  6. I am satiated and have NO CRAVINGS for any carbs or snacks
  7. My clothes are all fitting loose
  8. I am NEVER really that HUNGRY

I am so encouraged by these changes and am looking forward to getting my bloodwork done in the near future. Every other "diet" made me crazy and hungry and thinking about food constantly.
